Live Vedic Astronomy Course & Stargazing

Ignite your cosmic curiosity with AstroDoon’s Live Vedic Astronomy Course & Stargazing Show – a fun, family-friendly journey into the magical world of Indian astronomy (Khagolshastra).

Blending ancient Vedic wisdom with modern apps, telescopes, and storytelling, AstroDoon helps you understand the night sky the way our rishis did – through constellations, nakshatras, planets, and powerful time-keeping systems like the Vikram Samvat calendar and Panchang.

Whether you’re a student, parent, teacher, Retirees, science geek, or complete beginner, this interactive experience will have you spotting stars, identifying your birth nakshatra, and reading the sky like a pro.

Course Structure & Key Topics

There is one live session conducted daily from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. The session is in-person and fully hands-on.

What You’ll Learn

Star Mapping (Cosmic GPS of the Sky)

  • Understand the celestial coordinate system, star maps and how to locate any star in the sky using 3D models and apps.

Star Path - Tarikpath

  • See how stars move across the sky and how their motion helps us measure time and direction.

Sun Path – Suryapath

  • Explore Surya Siddhanta, Uttarayana, Dakshinayana, solstices, equinoxes and India’s six seasons (ritus).

Moon Path - Chandrapath

  • Understand moon phases, tithis, eclipses and the reason we have 27 Nakshatras. Learn how the Moon is used for calendars and festivals.

Planet Path – Grahapath

  • Learn simple techniques to identify planets in the night sky, track their motion, and understand why their visibility changes through the year.

Vikram Samvat Calendar & Panchang

  • Master India’s luni-solar calendar system, used for Hindu festivals and rituals. Decode your janampatri-like Panchang from a scientific perspective.

Indian Seasons & Celestial Events

  • Connect the movement of the Sun, Moon and planets to Indian seasons, festivals and important celestial events like eclipses and transits.

Using Astronomy Apps & Stellarium

  • Learn to use mobile apps and Stellarium to simulate the sky, plan stargazing sessions and understand how astronomers predict events.

Telescope Basics & Telescopic Viewing

  • Get an introduction to telescopes, binoculars and mounting techniques so you can start your own stargazing journey at home.
